Code & Compliance Community Day

Bringing together open source leaders, maintainers, and institutional stakeholders, the Code & Compliance Community Day takes place 22-23 October 2025.

Hosted at the Maison de la Poste in Brussels, this is a great opportunity to network with industry leaders and colleagues. It is also a perfect opportunity to reflect on the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA),on its first year since it came into force, and to be involved with shaping what comes next.

The Code & Compliance Community day will showcase how the CRA has been unfolding in practice, as well as what it means for open source software. The organisers are working closely with industry representatives to understand and apply their feedback and, as a result, the event’s program has been shaped to reflect the priorities and needs of the community with a variety of sessions, networking slots and workshops to foster community engagement and discussion.

While the CRA’s first year is the major focus of this event, the Community Day also provides a great platform for the open source community to come together and share insights. OpenForum Europe will host a workshop on October 22 titled “Solving the Standardisation Dilemma”. The workshop will explore openness, as practiced in collaborative innovation models such as open source development, and how standardization bodies can adapt (there will even be discussion of whether an entirely new approach is needed).

Those who attend the Community Day will benefit from a deeper understanding of real-world CRA implementation, as well as access to sessions that feed into deliverables and working group plans. Resources and community support for projects without corporate backing will also be available, highlighting the event’s focus on the community.
